Getting to Know Me

The internet can feel so impersonal and distancing. It feels good to get to know the people behind the writing, the programs and "the expert" image.

Doing business with someone requires a certain trust and familiary. Heck, even taking advice from someone requires that you see them as an expert but also as a likeable, trust-worthy human being. So I know you've taken a leap of faith in subscribing to my newsletter, becoming a client and taking the time to find your way to this page. I owe it to you to let you know a bit about me.

One good place to learn about me is my blog, Living Undaunted.

What I love to do: read, read and read (I have a library full of floor-to-ceiling bookcases and I regularly give boxes of books away). My resolution for this year... to go to the library more often instead of single-handedly keeping Amazon in business.

What I'm into right now:

Dare to Dream - the amazing and inspiring story of the U.S. Women's Soccer Team. Not yet out on DVD (but, boy, will I be first in line when it is), you can learn about them in the book The Girls of Summer

I'm both repulsed and strangely drawn by the events of our day. How do I cope? I get my news from the Daily Show on Comedy Central. Other sites that give me political giggles? The Onion and AvantNews.

Passionate about the "old knowledge" that used to be passed on from generation to generation, I aspire to one day be the "wise woman" that young women come to for advice and counsel. Inspirations include Susun Weed , Julia Cameron, Barbara Sher and so many other women, too numerous to mention, who have dared to be themselves completely.

Some other things about me: I have unusual taste in fiction (I'll read the back of a milk carton and my taste is diverse, but here is a site about one of my particular passions in reading).

I love to see the world, yet my longest running love affair is with my "hometown" of New York City. All I have to do is hit the pavement and feel the vibration of the streets, the diversity of the people. Since I first snuck in as a pre-teen when my mother thought I was at the library (yes, I've been a rebel since way back) I have loved its many neighborhoods, dazzling sights and the throb of life you can experience anywhere you go. While officially part of the "bridge and tunnel crowd" with a home in suburban New Jersey, I clock 15 minutes into midtown on my trusty 4-door sedan and I never miss an opportunity to get revitalized in the city I adore.

What's cool about it now:

My tango class
Scavenger hunts
Its coolest Mexican restaurant

Here's what's on my virtual bookshelf (coming soon).
